Accurate InGaAs Quadrant Photodiodes
Quadrant photodiodes from GPD Optoelectronics deliver precise, high-speed sensing — built for closed-loop systems where accuracy matters.
GPD’s standard InGaAs quadrant photodiode consists of four separate active regions on one detector. Each segment gives a current output related to the location of light on the detector. This configuration is ideal for precise position detection and alignment applications.
Applications include:
- Beam steering for free space optical communications
- Beam positioning and profiling in the laboratory
- Laser guidance
- Optical tweezers
- Beam profiling
Features include:
- Standard packages (TO-46, TO-5, and LCC)
- Spectral response from 800 nm to 2600 nm
- Chip active diameters: 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm, 3.0 mm and 5 mm
- High sensitivity
- Low crosstalk
- High shunt resistance
- Low dark current
- Low capacitance for high segment bandwidth
- Custom configurations available with tailored packaging, coatings, filters, and more
- Double quad configurations
With a wide spectral response (800–2600 nm), small segment gaps, and low dark current, they’re ideal for real-time feedback and control.
About GPD Optoelectronics
Founded in 1973, GPD Optoelectronics began by making high-quality germanium transistors, but since the early 1980s the company manufactures both germanium and indium gallium arsenide photodiodes and multi-element photodetectors. In addition to offering a variety of off-the-shelf products, GPD specializes in providing customized parts that are uniquely tailored to customer applications. GPD has the agility to design and deliver prototypes of custom products often within just a few weeks.
GPD’s products include:
- Photodiodes
- Position sensors
- Avalanche photodiodes – InGaAs APDs
- Specialty products
