CNI Produces Lasers for LiDAR Applications
Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR) is a method of measuring distance, by irradiating a target with a pulse laser and then measuring the reflected pulse with a sensor. Different laser return times and wavelengths can be used to make a digital 3D representation of the target. LiDAR is sometimes called 3D laser scanning, which is a special combination of 3D scanning and laser scanning. This technology has ground, air and mobile applications.
Common uses of LiDAR include: making high-resolution maps, as well as applications in geodesy, geology, archaeology, geography, geomorphology, seismology, forestry, atmospheric physics, and laser surveying. Another application is to control and navigate some self-driving cars.
CNI Optoelectronics Tech produces many products for LiDAR applications.
