Developing Renewable Solar Modules
The Lumisolar Professional from greateyes is a key component supporting research by the Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics CSP in Halle, Germany. The goal of this work is to create sustainable and resource-efficient solar modules. The study explores alternative materials like recycled, bio-based, and biodegradable polymers, as well as lead-free interconnections, to develop 100% renewable solar modules.
The research assessed material combinations through accelerated aging tests (IEC 61215/IEC 61730) and evaluated reliability using visual inspections, power measurements, and electroluminescence imaging. The greateyes Lumisolar Professional, equipped with a cooled CCD camera, was pivotal in capturing high-resolution electroluminescence images both before and after testing, ensuring precise insights into material performance over time.
About greateyes Cameras
greateyes offers a series of high-performance, cooled, full-frame, CCD scientific cameras for imaging and spectroscopy in the range of X-ray to near-infrared (NIR). The cameras combine scientific, highly sensitive CCD sensors and ultra-low noise electronics for optimal detection of weak signals and measurements with high dynamic range. They can be used as detectors for a broad range of applications common in the industrial and scientific community, including:
- Spectroscopy
- Imaging
