DOEs Improve Results in Picosecond Laser Skin Treatment
Diffractive optical elements (DOEs) are the way to get better results in picosecond laser skin treatment according to a recent article, entitled “Diffractive micro-lens array (DLA) for uniform and selective picosecond laser treatment.”
The researchers found that compared to a regular micro-lens array, diffractive beam splitters and diffractive lens arrays provide better uniformity and penetration of the skin. The excellent spot uniformity created by Holo/Or’s MS diffractive beam splitters allows for faster healing and better results of skin fractional treatments.
In this article, Holo/Or’s MS-219-I-Y-A splitter was used to generate 7X7 spots with excellent uniformity. In addition, Holo/Or’s Zemax integration tutorial was useful for the authors to simulate the behavior of their beam splitter.
