opus 1064

Many references are available on the topic of optical trapping, with an increasing number of researchers using an optical trap in combination with other spectroscopic techniques. The optical trap has a number of advantages for these techniques; it is non-destructive, and since it is neither chemical nor mechanical in nature, the optical trap does not introduce interfering signals into the analysis. The opus 1064 10W laser allows the beam to be divided into multiple channels, enabling manipulation of the trapped species and measurement of such interactions as inter-particle forces and rheological studies.

taccor 920

Laser Quantum announces the extension of the taccor ultrafast laser wavelength range to offer a 740-920nm central wavelength, allowing for a wider selection of fluorophores including GFP in non-linear microscopy. The taccor has always benefited from up to 10 times longer imaging times for live cells and with its long term hands-off operation and ease of use, it is fast becoming a dominant technology for the analysis of sensitive samples. The longer imaging times of the taccor compared to 80MHz oscillators is due to the reduced photo-bleaching and cell necrosis caused by the lower peak power of a 1GHz beam.
