Support for Ukraine

In support of the Ukrainian nation, government, and people, we at IL Photonics have stopped buying, selling, and promoting products from Russian companies until these companies do the following:

  • Demonstrate that they oppose the attacks of the Russian Army against Ukraine.

  • Demand that Putin resign because he has committed war crimes.

We urge you to do the same: STOP BUYING RUSSIAN,
as a shortcut to stop buying from Russian Collaborators, including any Russian company that does not actively and clearly protest the war crimes that Putin commands as long as the people of Russia expedite and allow him to stay at the head of the country.

Write to your Russian suppliers as we already wrote on Friday morning to ours:

"Dear XXXXX,
As part of the action to STOP BUYING RUSSIAN, we decided to stop buying your products and promoting your products until you show on your home page/website clearly:

  • Your company opposes the Attacks of the Russian Army on Ukraine.

  • Demand for Putin to resign because he committed war crimes.

Please let us know when this has been done.

We hope you are personally doing well and not collaborating in any way with these war crimes. This illegal action in the Ukraine is destroying life and property, and violating the human rights of the Ukrainian people."

Lasers

Ceramics and ceramic-like materials are essential in science and industry due to their outstanding thermal, mechanical, chemical properties. In a recent article, PHAROS femtosecond laser from Light Conversion was used for laser lithography of hybrid organic-inorganic materials with subsequent heat treatment leading to tunable-crystalline-phase 3D nanostructures with feature resolution down to 60 nm.

The article, entitled “Laser additive manufacturing of Si/ZrO2 tunable crystalline phase 3D nanostructures,” appears in the journal Opto-Electronic Advances.

Along with the 80 W, 40 W, and 20 W models of CARBIDE femtosecond laser, Light Conversion now offers an 80 W model with 2 mJ pulse energy! The reliability of CARBIDE femtosecond laser has been proven by hundreds of systems operating 24/7 in the industrial environment. The lasers are mainly used for a variety of material micro-machining tasks, such as drilling and cutting various metals, polymers, ceramics, sapphire, and glass, as well as state-of-the-art research.

Access Laser proudly presents the SLX! The SLX is Access Laser’s new compact laser platform designed for highest performance in a wide range of environmental conditions. This compact laser provides 1-watt laser radiation on a single emission line.

Applications for the SLX include:

Optics

Image for TTB mirrors

The TTB range of mirrors from Manx Precision Optics (MPO) is based on a specialist coating design to offer a broader reflectivity bandwidth while maintaining a good Group Delay Dispersion (GDD) and high laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT). At 800 nm, mirrors from the TTB range achieve an LIDT of >= 0.45 J/cm2 in 25 fs and >= 1.15 J/cm2 in 500 fs. MPO has solutions for LIDTs relating to other pulse durations.

In a white paper, entitled “Fabrication of optical glass,” Manx Precision Optics (MPO) presents a general overview of optical glass manufacture.

The paper summarizes the steps of this process:

  • Rough shaping

  • Milling

  • Loose abrasive lapping/grinding

  • Polishing

  • Edging

Phase plate optics from Holo/Or provide numerous uses including phase contrast microscopy, ring beam generation, and more. Phase plates are a common name for many types of optical elements, designed to give a wavefront a pre-designed phase profile. This profile can be used for various light shaping applications.

For more information, contact Holo/Or.

Laser systems are growing increasingly complex, and laser intensities are becoming higher than ever before. Due to these advances, conventional quartz waveplates are beginning to approach their limits.

Phase shifting mirrors produced by Manx Precision Optics (MPO) are capable of good performance over broad bandwidths, due to broadband reflectivity over 99%, low Group Delay Dispersion, and broad characteristic phase delay.
