Fiber Fuse End Caps and Collimators
Utilizing their patented Fiber Fuse Technology, Electro-Optics Technology’s (EOT) produces End Caps and Collimators as monolithic structures, resulting in minimal optical loss. This structure can reduce the risk of damage to the optical fiber and ferrule by effectively reducing the power density to a level below the damage threshold of the fiber. This technology also enables EOT to avoid using adhesives near the beam path. This technique also increases the device’s damage threshold. Additionally, the nanotexturing of the end cap pushes power handling limits to >3 kW, while still maintaining the same monolithic structure. This construction method results in products that are ideally suited for placement at the output of fiber lasers used in spectral and coherent beam combining, as well as the delivery of laser light from pump laser diodes to lasing crystals or fiber.
