Fiber Optic Cable Jackets to Suit Your Application
The standard polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket over a flat steel ribbon monocoil is the standard cable jacket provided by PHILTEC. This jacket is good for general purposes. It features moderate crush resistance and moderate tensile strength. The recommended temperature range is between 10 and 105 °C.
Additionally PHILTEC provides alternatives to this model, specifically designed for many purposes and environments. Different jackets are manufactured from various materials, including stainless steel, fiberglass, silicon, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and more. Different materials offer different degrees of flexibility, pliability, tensile strength, kink resistance, crush resistance, radiation resistance, ambient conditions (liquid, vapor, or vacuum environment), and other properties. Temperature ranges vary from a minimum of -270 °C to a maximum of 500 °C (specific range depends upon the construction material).
For special applications, PHILTEC can manufacture according to other specifications.
