greateyes ALEX-I Installed at BESSY II
The greateyes team has been busy with the installation and commissioning of a customized ALEX-i 4k4k CCD camera at HZB/Bessy II.
This CCD camera was installed at the PM2 bending magnet at BESSY II to upgrade the VEKMAG end-station. The instrument is designed for XAS/XMCD measurements, for resonant and-off resonant, soft X-ray scattering methods. Time-resolved ferromagnetic resonance using XMCD, in high magnetic fields at low temperatures, can also be observed.
The ALEX-i 4k4k CCD detector was chosen for its large field of view, 18-bit low noise electronics, flexible readout architecture, resilience towards external magnetic fields, low outgassing rates, and EPICS software connectivity.
After the first data of the test samples came in, there were many happy faces from the users. greateyes is looking forward to many more stunning discoveries and images!
