greateyes Scientific Cameras Advance Space Exploration
In a recent peer-reviewed study comparing Laser-Induced Soft X-ray Spectroscopy (LIXS) and Extreme Ultraviolet Spectroscopy with conventional LIBS, a greateyes CCD camera was used to detect extreme ultraviolet (XUV or EUV) emission (5–20 nm) from laser-induced plasmas generated on lunar analog basalt samples under vacuum conditions.
High-sensitivity, low-noise detection in the XUV range was essential to capturing early-phase plasma emission and enabling this comparative performance analysis. This is a key requirement for future extra-terrestrial, in-situ resource utilization (ISRU) missions.
