High-Efficiency Nd:Ce:YAG Laser Crystal
Nd:Ce:YAG is a highly efficient laser material that has found widespread application across medical, industry and scientific research fields. As a co-doped crystal, Nd:Ce:YAG incorporates cerium as a sensitizer for Nd3+ ions. Cerium’s strong ultraviolet absorption under flashlamp-pumping significantly enhances the excitation of Nd3+ ions, resulting in improved energy transfer and overall laser performance. This co-doping strategy leads to reduced thermal distortion and higher output laser energy compared to standard Nd:YAG crystals under the same pumping conditions.
Operating at a lasing wavelength of 1064 nm, Nd:Ce:YAG exhibits the same laser damage threshold (LDT) and thermal conductivity as Nd:YAG, making it a compatible yet superior alternative for high-power laser systems. The material supports both diode-pumped and flashlamp-pumped configurations and is suitable for air-cooled or water-cooled laser systems. Whether in pulsed or continuous wave mode, Nd:Ce:YAG delivers reliable performance and excellent beam quality, making it ideal for demanding industrial tasks such as material processing, marking, welding, and cutting. It is also a key material in laser ranging technologies.
CRYSTECH’s vertically integrated production ensures every step — from crystal growth, cutting, polishing to coating — is performed in house, guaranteeing the highest quality and consistency. Available rod sizes range from 3 mm to 7 mm in diameter and up to 180 mm in length, with high-damage-threshold coatings tailored for performance.
