High LIDT, Low GDD Coatings for High Power Ultrafast Lasers
Dr. Helmut Kessler of Manx Precision Optics (MPO) presented a talk entitled “High LIDT, Low GDD Coatings for High Power Ultrafast Lasers” at the Optical Society (OSA) Laser Application Conference on 5 October 2021.
Coatings for ultrafast lasers require a high Laser-Induced Damage Threshold (LIDT) and good Group Delay Dispersion (GDD) performance. This additional demand creates significant design and manufacturing implications. The talk investigates the options available regarding dielectric, metal and metal-dielectric hybrid coatings.
