How Did UVM Build Their Own Optical Tweezers
Watch an interview with Dr. David Warshaw, Professor and Chair of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Vermont (UVM), whose lab works with the protein myosin. In the interview he tells the story about how he started working with Chroma back in 1991! His group designed and constructed their own optical tweezers (laser trap) equipment. Integral to this device are custom-designed optical filters that he convinced Chroma to manufacture for his project. He explains Chroma’s willingness to undertake this project and the close relationship he has maintained with Chroma since 1991.
