Innovations at Philtec for the Aerospace Industry
Philtec produces sensors and components suited to the extreme environments present in various applications for the aerospace industry.
Long Fiber-Optic Cables
Aerospace propulsion engineers at many companies are using Philtec sensors to help them perfect their new turbopump designs. These sensors can be built with long fiber-optic cables (13.5–18 m) and some with 3 in-line connections. The long length is needed to get the electronics away from the heat and vibration at the rocket test stands.

Calibration of Data for Cryogenic Fuel
New fuels such as liquid methane, propane, and kerosene are being used now. Philtec is able to calibrate the probes in air or water and then mathematically convert the calibration data for operation in the cryogenic fluids.
WiFi Wireless Sensors
WiFi radios are incorporated into the sensor amplifier package. They feature long battery life (8 hours active, 2 weeks standby) and extended transmission range.
