Introducing CHARLIE: Back-Illuminated sCMOS Camera for EUV and X-Ray
greateyes GmbH proudly introduces its latest innovation: CHARLIE — a new back-illuminated sCMOS camera, specifically designed for imaging and spectroscopy in the EUV and X-ray spectrum.
Designed and engineered in Berlin, CHARLIE draws upon decades of expertise in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) environments. By combining deep cooling, high frame rates, and exceptional sensitivity, CHARLIE sets a new benchmark for researchers and engineers tackling the most advanced and demanding experiments.
CHARLIE provides versatile performance for a range of applications:
- X-ray spectroscopy
- EUV lithography
- High harmonic generation
- High repetition rate FEL imaging
- Coherent diffraction imaging
- SAXS, RIXS, NEXAFS, and X-ray ptychography
Built for performance in vacuum-integrated systems, CHARLIE delivers remarkable specifications: quantum efficiency up to 99%, cooling down to -50°C, and frame rates up to 48 fps (full frame)—bringing capabilities to sCMOS cameras that were previously considered out of reach.
CHARLIE highlights include:
- Up to 16.8 megapixel resolution
- High quantum efficiency up to 99%
- High frame rates up to 48 fps (full frame)
- Deep cooling down to -50 °C
- 12-bit SDR and 16-bit HDR modes
- GigE & USB 3.0 data interfaces
- Multiple flange versions
