Investigating the Dynamics of Charge Transfer in Solar Cells
Tandem organic solar cells have drawn much attention in the field of solar energy. They consist of two monolithically connected cells enabling a broader absorption spectrum and efficient use of photon energy.
In a Nature Communications article, entitled “High performance tandem organic solar cells via a strongly infrared-absorbing narrow bandgap acceptor,” researchers use the ultrafast HARPIA spectroscopy system from Light Conversion to investigate the charge transfer dynamics of infrared-absorbing narrow bandgap acceptors, a key component in such solar cells.
