Light Conversionย has recently introduced CRONUS-2P and CRONUS-3P microscopy-dedicated femtosecond laser sources covering applications in functional neuroimaging, optogenetics, and deep imaging using medium-repetition-rate, three-photon excitation and fast high-repetition-rate, two-photon imaging.

The measurement of transient optical fields is critical to understanding theย ultrafastย physical and chemical phenomena and is key to realizing high-speed electronics and telecommunications. In a paper entitled, โ€œSingle-shot measurement of few-cycle optical waveforms on a chipโ€, a technique is demonstrated for single-shot waveform measurement of few-cycle mid-infrared pulses.

The experimental setup by these researchers includes the following Light Conversion equipment:

Manx Precision Optics (MPO) has just released their latest Technical Note, TN2022-02 This note is entitled, โ€œWhat is LIDT?โ€ This note explains the concept of Laser Induced Damage Threshold.

LIDT is defined as the โ€œhighest quantity of laser radiation incident upon the optical component for which the extrapolated probability of damage is zeroโ€ by ISO 21254-1.

MPO experiments with laser resistant coatings and work with LIDT testing companies to achieve the highest thresholds possible.

Manx Precision Optics (MPO)ย can provide laser line mirrors with an L/10 surface flatness.

Their standard laser line mirror products include:

Specifications for both types of components include:

  • UV Fused Silica

  • Diameter Tolerance: +0/-0.25mm

  • Thickness Tolerance: +/-0.25mm

  • Front surface: ฮป/10 flatness, 10-5 scratch-dig

  • Rear surface: inspection polish

Iridian Spectral Technologiesย proudly announces that their article โ€œOptical Filters Enhance PCR-Based Detection of COVID-19โ€ is the cover story in the latest issue (January/February 2022) of BioPhotonics.

Wavelength-specific filters help to separate fluorescence and excitation light, resulting in less background noise, which facilitates accurate results in real time.

The optical filters providing the wavelength selectivity are best considered as a group or set (excitation,ย dichroic beamsplitter, andย emission filter) rather than as individual components.

Manx Precision Opticsย can provide both single wavelength and broadband AR coatings on theirย coated windows.

Standard wavelengths include:

  • 248 nm

  • 266 nm

  • 355 nm

  • 532 nm

  • 1030 nm

  • 1064 nm

Photo for Advanced Diffuser Optics

Industrial high-power lasers have been used for many purposes from material processing to cosmetic treatments. These applications often use multi-mode laser sources due to their high output power and low cost, making them ideal for industrial use.

However, these laser sources generally have an uneven power distribution, either spatially or temporally, due to their multi-mode nature. This is intolerable today due to the high standards of quality.

The use of special diffuser optics in the development of diffusers, which are engineered for broadband use and high performance, has revolutionized the. These broadband hybrid diffusers, such asย Holo/Orโ€™s BD diffuser family, are flat-top beam shaping micro-refractive lens arrays that have added diffractive modulations. This feature helps eliminate the irregularities that plague standard lens array diffusers, creating a truly uniform, flat top shape.

For more information,ย contact Holo/Or.

This image photographed by Terry Hancock is of the Supernova Remnant IC443, also known as the Jellyfish Nebula and Sharpless 248. It is located in the Gemini constellation, roughly 5,000 light years away from Earth. This was taken with Chroma filters, and took a total of 16.25 hours of exposure over 3 days from Grand Mesa Observatory in CO.

Chroma Technologyย manufactures the highest qualityย astronomy filtersย with durable, sputtered hard coatings using single substrates of the best glass, eliminating the need for laminations.
