Low Noise Detectors for X-Ray Applications
On December 8th 2020, greateyes will participate in the ICXRL conference. ICXRL is a biannual event to promote the development of advanced extreme UV and X-ray sources, and their scientific applications in various fields.
Due to COVID-19, the event will be held online as a Zoom conference this year. The conference will present the latest trends as well as the latest results involving state-of-the-art X-ray sources generated from intense lasers, novel detectors and innovative detection methods. The program includes keynote lectures, invited lectures, technology focus talks and contributed short talks.
The name of the presentation by greateyes is: “Low Noise Detectors for X-ray Applications”

Topics to be Presented
The detection of electromagnetic radiation in the visible, UV, EUV, and X-ray ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum is the focus of greateyes business. Key attributes of their detectors are low noise, high sensitivity, and high dynamic range. Based on a new and unique platform concept developed by greateyes, they offer a portfolio of scientific cameras with vacuum interface for imaging and spectroscopy applications in the VUV, EUV, as well as soft and hard X-ray ranges. The CCD sensor detects incident photons directly without an energy converter. Besides the precise measurement of high energy radiation, the detectors also exhibit a high sensitivity in the ranges NIR, VIS and UV as well.
At the conference they will present several detectors and outline key functionality as well as potential applications. These detectors provide a rich set of functionalities including flexible binning, various trigger and synchronization options, software selectable gain as well as advanced temperature monitoring of the sensor and the thermoelectric cooler. The presentation will show how these detectors can perform for the most challenging experiments. In addition, greateyes will share their vision about future detection technology that will benefit x-ray scientists in the future.
