Paper about Flash Lamp-Pumped CTH:YAG MOPA
Researchers from the Univ. of Alabama at Birmingham and MegaWatt Lasers presented a paper at the Photonics West Conference about flash lamp-pumped CTH:YAG master oscillator power amplifiers (MOPA).
The title of the paper is “Electro-optically Q-switched 2.8 um Cr:Er:YSGG laser with output energy up to 300 mJ.” Here is the paper’s abstract:
For some medical and remote sensing applications, high peak power and high energy per pulse laser emission in the 2 µm is required. We report results using a flash lamp-pumped CTH:YAG MOPA configuration where we achieved 500 mJ output at 5 Hz with a 50 ns pulse duration.
