Rare Planetary Parade
Around February 28, 2026, the evening sky hosts a stunning planetary alignment as Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, Neptune, and Uranus form a graceful arc just after sunset.
This “planet parade” happens when planets appear lined up along the ecliptic, the Sun’s apparent path across the sky. It’s a beautiful reminder of the precise rhythms of our solar system.
When to look:
- Peak: Around February 28, with visibility for several days before and after
- Time: 15–30 minutes after sunset
- Direction: Low in the western sky
What you’ll see:
- Venus: Brilliant and easy to spot
- Saturn: Pale yellow, just above Venus
- Jupiter: Bright and steady, higher in the sky
- Uranus & Neptune: Faint, best viewed with binoculars or a telescope
Tips for viewing:
- Find a clear view of the western horizon.
- Give your eyes time to adjust to the dark.
- Binoculars or a small telescope reveal even more detail, including Saturn’s rings and Jupiter’s moons.
Look up, slow down, and enjoy the view. The universe always rewards curiosity!
