Reduce Damage from Long-Term Brillouin Imaging of Live Cells
Recent data from Maryland shows that using a 660 nm wavelength laser can reduce absorption-mediated damage when performing long-term Brillouin imaging of live cells. The latest research uses the torus 660 nm and the torus 532 nm single longitudinal wave lasers by Laser Quantum. This research demonstrates that live cell imaging may be more efficient at 660 nm. The 660 nm incidental light is 80 times less susceptible to damage by the live cells compared to 532 nm. The research determines that the Brillouin imaging of cells improves with 660 nm with more accuracy, higher speeds or larger fields and denser sampling.
