Series Resistance Imaging for Tandem Solar Cells
A new study on perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells used an ELSEi 1k1k BI MID silicon CCD camera from greateyes for photoluminescence imaging.
The published paper for this study is entitled, “Fast and Simple Series Resistance Imaging for Tandem Solar Cells Using Differential Luminescence.”
The camera enabled high-resolution PL measurements that helped the researchers identify and localize series resistance defects in the solar cells — including scratches, finger interruptions and other resistive areas.
Great to see greateyes imaging technology supporting the development of more efficient and reliable solar cells.
About ELSE CCD Cameras
Trace particulate detection in the UV spectrum requires hardware that leaves no room for error. The ELSE series from greateyes is designed specifically for these high-stakes applications by featuring:
- High Quantum Efficiency: Maximizing signal capture in the UV range
- Ultra-Deep Cooling & Low Noise: Suppressing dark-current and thermal interference
- 18-bit Dynamic Range: Providing the high contrast needed for subtle gas plumes
- High Spatial Resolution: Up to 16 MP to retain detail during intensive post-processing.
Whether it’s monitoring maritime emissions, investigating combustion products, or tracking volcanic activity, the ELSE line provides the precision required for the most demanding remote sensing applications.
