DC Series High Power CO2 Slab Laser
Coherent DC Series high power CO2 lasers offer an unmatched combination of economy and reliability for a variety of materials-processing tasks, including cutting, welding, and surface treatment. In addition, their far infrared (FIR) output wavelength makes them compatible with a wide range of materials, including metals, wood, plastics, textiles, paper, and carbon-fiber reinforced polymers (CFRPs).
These lasers employ a slab discharge design, which is simpler and produces better output characteristics than the fast flow construction traditionally utilized in multi-kilowatt CO2 lasers. The sealed, slab discharge configuration avoids optics contamination and eliminates the complexity, cost, and reliability issues of blowers for gas recirculation. All this means substantially lower operating costs, greater reliability, longer lifetimes and extended intervals between maintenance.
Features and benefits of these lasers:
- Output power: 1000–8,000 Watts
- Wavelength 10.6 µm
- Minimal gas consumption due to diffusion cooling
- Low service requirements thanks to the robust, low-maintenance design
- Available configurations:
- Compact Version: laser head and control cabinet in one unit
- Head/cabinet combination
- Integration modules
Refer to the DC Series High Power CO2 Slab Laser data sheet for more details.

AXIALSCAN-50 DIGITAL II
The AXIALSCAN-50 DIGITAL II from RAYLASE combines a deflection unit with a linear translator module. The deflection unit can be used to deflect a laser beam in the X and Y direction. This results in a two-dimensional area in which the laser can be directed to any position. This area is referred to as the processing area.
Deflection is performed by two mirrors, each of which is moved by a galvanometer scanner. The focal length can be varied by the linear translator module placed ahead of the deflection unit, thus allowing the laser beam to be focused at any desired point in a 3D volume. This is achieved by using a linear translator with a galvanometer to move a lens along the optical axis. Compared to an F-Theta lens, this enables a relatively large marking field in which the laser beam is always optimally focused.
The size of the processing area is set manually during installation. The optical and electronic components of the deflection unit should be protected against contamination by mounting a protective window at the beam output.
Refer to the The AXIALSCAN-50 DIGITAL II manual for more details.
