Temperature Limits for Philtec Sensor Tips and Cable Jackets
Philtec standard sensor tips are constructed with glass fibers and stainless steel housings. Materials available for more extreme temperature ranges include high temperature epoxy, high temperature adhesive, mechanically bonded fibers, or fused-end quartz fiber. These materials provide different ranges of operation up to 800 °C. (See Philtec Application Note No. 71.)
In addition, fiberoptic cable jackets composed of different materials enable operation of Philtec equipment from -270 to 800 °C. Read Philtec Application Note No. 71 for the specific temperature range supported by each type of material.
